Disinfection Measures

• As of March 12, 2022, per CDC guidelines, masks are now optional at Decades.
• Decades requires gamers to physically distance at least 6ft from other gamers not in their party.
• Decades limits total attendance in the arcade to no more than 80 at a time.
• Decades requires all people visiting to certify they have not had potential COVID symptoms over the last 14 days before entering.

Extremely small particles containing the virus can be exhaled with normal breathing & talking. In stagnant air, such as homes or workplaces with closed windows & doors, the amount of the virus in the air can steadily rise as multiple people simply breathe in the space. These small particles can travel the entire length of a room in a few hours. Closed HVAC systems, without substantial fresh air, can possibly aid in circulating and spreading these particles that contain the virus. This is the reason being outside is safer than being inside.

• Decades has installed 45 fans to bring air from the outside thru the back of the arcade and sends in in the arcade and then out the front door. This ensures that we have a complete air exchange roughly every 6 minutes. All fans blow in one direction from back to front of the arcade so air cycles in & out constantly.

Viral particles can potentially remain airborne for hours, possibly infecting people in enclosed spaces. In addition to airing out the arcade with high velocity air flow to prevent this, we also filter the air to remove virus-sized particles.

• Decades has 18 HEPA-13, hospital grade air purifiers running in all rooms to help clean the air, effective for removing viral particles.

Sunlight kills the virus. We can’t bring the sun inside, but we can use ultraviolet light present in sunlight to do the same thing.  Ultraviolet light will rapidly and effectively kill the virus.

• Decades uses UVC light in each room (over 50 bulbs) (which kills virus particles in the air & on surfaces) every night after operation.

While touch is not a major source of transmission for COVID, nevertheless we want to take the utmost caution.

• Decades has applied SD-90, an industrial-strength virucide to all games, so if the virus lands on treated surface, it will die.
• Decades places hand sanitizer in every room.
• Decades requires hand sanitizer when entering the arcade.

• We are not allowing eating inside our arcade. Food and candy can be consumed on our new patio out front. Eating causes a higher release of viral particles than just breathing. For this reason, we will not allow eating inside the arcade for the foreseeable future.
• Drinks are allowed inside.
